Overall Project Status - A Snapshot

A total of 177 works are sanctioned under Plan Head 53, indicating a massive investment in customer amenities. The portfolio is dynamic, with numerous projects at every stage of the lifecycle.

Goods Shed Program - Overview

Significant investments are being made to upgrade infrastructure at key goods sheds under the PWP 2022-23 & 2023-24 programs.

Goods Shed - Kalyan (KYN)

• Project Name: Improvement of Goods Shed at Kalyan (KYN)
• Estimated Cost: ₹23.05 Crores
• Sanctioned: December 13, 2024
• Scope of Works:
  • Improvement of covered shed area (COP, side walls, platform resurfacing).
  • Provision of new covered shed for 23 wagons.
  • Improvement of circulating area and approach road with cement concreting.
  • Reconstruction of culvert and improvement of drainage.
  • New G+1 building for Labour/Merchant rooms.
  • Provision of water sprinklers, dust screens, CCTVs.
• Current Status: Tender Opened on May 13, 2025. TC Minutes are under process.

Goods Shed - Turbhe (TAPG)

  • GM has instructed to prune down the cost after reviewing the master plan concepts.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) - Overview

Modernization of 15 stations is underway in Mumbai Division under ABSS, with a focus on improved amenities, accessibility, and aesthetics.

Works Proposed for Deletion

10 works are proposed for deletion. These projects are 100% physically complete, and their final bills have been passed. This is a crucial administrative step to clean the records.

Works Proposed for Short Closure

5 key works are proposed for short closure. This occurs when the full scope is no longer required, often because it has been merged with a larger, newer project.

1. New Booking Offices (LB-1888): Reason: Work at Currey Road & Karjat dropped due to site unavailability.
2. Emergency Medical Rooms at 24 stations (LB-1893): Reason: Contract terminated for slow progress. The remaining work will be done under a revised estimate/new tender.
3. FOB at Khadavali, etc. (LB-1895): Reason: FOB at Khadavali will now be done by the Construction Organization as part of the 3rd & 4th line project.
4. FOB at Ambernath, etc. (LB-1896): Reason: Ambernath FOB is now part of the MRVC 3rd & 4th line project.
5. Provision of TC Office (2021-22): Reason: Scope at most stations is now covered under ABSS works.

2. Resolve Bottlenecks in WIP:
   • Address the issues leading to the termination of contracts for EMRs and Booking Offices and ensure swift re-tendering.
   • Follow up on GAD approvals for critical FOBs to move them into the execution phase.
3. Streamline New Projects:
   • Fast-track the estimate preparation and vetting for the 40 new works, especially the Train Management System (TMS) projects.
4. Administrative Efficiency:
   • Complete the process of deleting and short-closing all identified works to ensure accurate reporting and financial management.
